If your goal is to help people transition to that future, would you engage with the people who are already there?

Maybe try travel? Bring your laptop / deck / switch so you can game on the road. But do it from some place new. If you can work from home, maybe try moving around on short term rentals. Doesn’t need to be anything exotic, could be the next town over.
Anything to break up your routine a bit. Don’t look at it as a means to an end. Try and enjoy the journey itself
Open source alternative to Adobe Lightroom
- doesnt have time, unassigns themselves
Because someone else took over, as the person even says in a comment.
- Priority gets set lower
Priority got set back to the priority it was at 4 minutes before. The priority being changed was clearly a mistake.
- A guy wants to work on it
- That guy doesnt work at Mozilla anymore
OK?
- The bug went from priority P5 to P1 and doesnt block anything anymore
It got retriaged. There are processes for this and it’s totally normal.
This is really bad. Especially as it seems like not that big of a change.
No it really isn’t bad at all. And it’s a massive change, the linked bug is a meta bug which means it is simply used to track the actual work. See all the bugs in the depends on section? That’s where the real work happens and there has been a ton of progress made.
Also believe it or not, lots of discussion happens outside of bugs. You really have no idea what is going on just by looking at bug activity.

I dunno, I suspect most human alt texts to be vague and non descriptive. I’m sure a human trying their hardest could out write an AI alt text… But I’d be pretty shocked if AI’s weren’t already better than the average alt text.
Same reason most non technical people using Linux today do so on the Steam Deck. If you want to spread Linux, trying to convince individuals is going about it all wrong.
You need to convince Canonical or Red Hat to spend more on partnerships with manufacturers. I’m not sure if anyone else has deep enough pockets.
Oh man, I love adaptive cruise control. I also don’t agree that using it in the left lane is bad. If there’s a line of cars going too slowly, the person in front is the asshole, not the three using ACC behind them. You really shouldn’t pass on the right anyway, would definitely not call doing that driving safer.
It’s an interesting question. On the one hand, alcohol is more accessible. On the other, it’s more likely to be within walking distance. I could see it going either way.
The problem is this relies on the people who make stuff making a huge sacrifice on behalf of everyone else. This won’t change until everyone else is willing to at least match what rich people can offer to people who make stuff. Unfortunately everyone else are not willing to match this unless people who make stuff can offer a product of equivalent value. Making a product of equivalent value takes time, which gives rich people ample opportunity to offer more than everyone else is willing to.
Eh, that would kill the steam deck though and then developers wouldn’t be testing their games out with it nearly as much. Sure proton would still exist in some capacity but it would be way shittier.

I’m experienced enough to know that out of my mobile carrier and ISP, I am the least trustworthy operator.
How about #MaxTheTax?
Any relatively modern AMD card should be fine. Also, protondb.com is your friend.
Yes, IIRC there’s a pref or env that needs to be set too… I want to say MOZ_ENABLE_MARIONETTE, but it’s been awhile.

It requires programming knowledge though.
I think you have a very optimistic view on how far crowd sourcing this is going to take us.
BTW, you think web developers aren’t already using editors that use AI to generate alt text automatically? AI alt text is going to be everywhere regardless.
Also I’m not saying that’s a good thing. It’s just an inevitable thing.
