Yeah I wasn’t sure, but the first pdf reader I thought of was librera. Pretty sure Okular can do it too. Normally the “dark mode” is just inverting the colours since printed pdfs are normally black text on white paper.

That was somebody who was genuinely trying to help and giving OP as much support and empathy as they could muster. And you can see OP just has no desire to improve his situation. He just wants attention.

I just went on a trip to France last month and while I wouldn’t say Paris was the highlight, the Louvre and Musée D’Orsay were unforgettable experiences. The Versailles gardens were pretty great too but that’s not really in Paris I don’t think.

Please get therapy. I started a few years ago and I went from autistic virgin in his late 20s who had never been on a single date to guy with a girlfriend. It’s never too late if you are willing to put work into yourself.

Also, even if you can’t afford therapy, at least read “The Six Pillars Of Self Esteem” by Nathaniel Branden. Just skip all the parts where he talks about Ayn Rand. And do the homework at the back of the book every day if you can, once you finish reading it. That book was maybe the thing that made the biggest difference for me in changing my attitude about finding a relationship.

I feel the same way. Most of the conversations here are pointless and don’t prompt any interesting discussion. They are just an opportunity for the OP to air their dumb questions and opinions. Particularly any question that begins “Does Anyone Else” should just be banned from this muni. If people want such dumb questions in their feeds, they should join a separate muni for that.

I often feel like the odd one out in this conversation because I feel like I’m the only person with no strong feelings one way or the other. Like I could be totally okay with never having kids, but also fine with having kids.

Especially in a language where none of the words seem to resamle anything from my previous languages.

It’s challenging, but if you can get a handle on the etymology of the language you’re studying, that may help. I’m learning Chinese and the characters got a lot less intimidating once I learned about the radicals. Basically there are smaller characters embedded within all but the most simple characters, and often the character is telling some kind of story that uses all of the radicals to illustrate the meaning of the character.

For example 看 means “look”, which seems pretty nonsensical. But then if you know that 手 means “hand” and 目 means “eye”, then you can see that the “look” character is made up of the hand character over top of the eye character, like someone shielding their eyes from the sun as they look at something. And the hand and eye characters both look a bit more like the things they represent.

Similarly, if one was learning English, it may behoove them to learn a little bit about Latin and Greek roots, since a lot of our vocabulary comes from those. Maybe even read about some of the most common PIE roots. Once you learn about PIE roots you can start noticing them in all kinds of places in our language.
