Sure but I think it is less immediate. In music we have to make a decision if they are speaking about themselves nonfiction or fiction and in a book or movie we assume they are creating fictional character.

I think it’s really interesting how people interpret music completely different than other forms of art. People sometimes assume the worst instead of realizing that the singer is speaking from another perspective. So for example if a writer has a first person perspective of a killer/rapist you wouldn’t make an association that the author is anything of the sort. But if they wrote a song and sang it then people would question if they really felt that way. Polly is a great example. By many accounts (Kathleen Hanna , Kim Gordon) Cobain championed feminism and woman’s rights but the lyrics of Polly are brutal and from the perpetrator view. Randy Newman’s - Rednecks is a tough one to listen to. You can understand how it is trying to point out ignorance and racism like Blazing Saddles but it’s sung in first person and should never be played in a public setting. Oingo Bongo’s - Little Girs was always a bit creepy now seems to age poorly the more time has gone on. Minor Threat - Guilty of being white is a tough listen because you know racist people think this is a rallying cry instead of the emotionly reaction from a a teenage kid who was bullied in highschool for being white.
I’m going to say because it’s short, stupid catchy. Sometimes your brain goes to random places and then logic sets in. Ignoring typical reason is what makes absurdist comedy work. We obviously have a character playing it straight trying to figure it out getting more and more upset by the illogical which makes the bit work. The music is silly and not eerie at all and then getting scared freeze frame when they continue to point out the character is not scary is the kicker and sort of makes it worth it. This was probably just a random skit they threw in last minute and thought, just have fun. A lot of hit songs are simple, obvious, stupid and catchy. Rick James thought Superfreak was a throw away song too dumb to be on the album and it’s his most recognized song.
Unfortunately until gaming companies see their base users move to Linux I doubt any changes will happen. But this could be a very good step in that direction if YouTubers start promoting Linux is the way to go for games and web browsers. Some people don’t use anything else.
It’s sad to hear but I think we all need more news stories of people dying trying to take photos in nature. While hiking the past 10 years I’m surprised how many people at the top of cliffs are just gathering for selfies. Idk why they don’t realize that not going to the absolute edge maybe 5-6 feet away is the exact same photo and tripping backwards wouldn’t immediately kill them.
I’d like to know as well. Amazon pays artists and book author pennies. Books are easier to find or order local but there seems to be a complete Monopoly on audiobooks by Audible (aka Amazon)
“stop stop… he’s already dead”. Pretty much how everyone feels about the show.
I was a manager and was hands on training “Gary” day one. Gary continued to get audible dings and read text messages and type while I was talking directly to him. After the 2-3 time I asked if everything was alright and Gary needed to step out to handle something. He said something like, “oh no it’s just a text chain…”. I asked them stop texting but they sort of tried to hide the fact that they continued as I tried to get their attention and they just kept texting. After some more time I stopped after a simple demonstration and asked if they could do what I just did. Gary didn’t do the simple task correctly. I excused myself and walked to office I said to the other people managers /hiring staff, “I don’t think this is going to work out with Gary. It’s day one and he refuses to pay attention.” They expressed that another good coworker and friend had recommended him for the job and I just get through some stuff. Ok maybe Gary was having a bad day.
Later that week I learned Gary didn’t have a car even though transportation was required for the position because you might be working different locations all over town and Gary thought that his friend would be nice and just drive him to whatever job he needed to go to and then drive to their own job somewhere else. It lasted a few days and Gary didn’t arrive at locations we need him at. When we called he said, “I don’t have a ride I can’t work.” I asked if there way to figure out the transportation and he said it would be alright. I think he took a cab a few times but the locations are 20-30 mins away. After multiple no shows or very late arrivals we had to let Gary go.
Now I spoke with Gary several times. I don’t think this was some sort of condition were he didn’t understand the job and what he needed to do. I believe that Gary really thought we were all just living in his world or maybe he had to get out and prove he got a job. After he was gone I asked Gary’s friend, “So what happened?”. She confirmed that he never had a car or equipment needed. I asked if he got another job. She said, “Oh I don’t know, I don’t like Gary very much”.
I just realized that the most obvious choice for new players is Stardew Valley. I never really thought about it. Even newer Mario or Minecraft could be a barrier. Controlling cameras can be confusing and difficult for newer players. Stardew doesn’t require you to be good at twin stick mechanics (although that is used for the slingshot if you want to do that). It gives you lots of encouragement and is very straightforward with missions. The screen is never cluttered with junk or pop-ups. It gets more complex as you progress but you’ll never be “stuck”. The fishing and fighting games teaches how to use button control and timing. Everything feels rewarding like you are making progress. Not to mention it’s pretty universally loved and will run on almost any PC and is available on all consoles or tablet or mobile devices
