Are you kidding meeeee
Are you kidding meeeee
Added to the list! Thanks for the recco, it sounds like a good game to go in to if you’ve got reasonable expectations.
I found this was more the case early on into quitting. The author’s advice of pushing through the discomfort and saying what you wish you could is perfect. It really helps ratchet up a social engagement into gear. After a while you get used to just speaking your mind, more earnestly than ever before in my case.
Keep it up and you’ll be laughing and crying in the pub’s booth just like old times, walking home tired and wobbly from oversharing. Yes you’ll even cringe at your inability to keep your big mouth closed.
Kingdoms of Amalur is a great example of a perfectly enjoyable, mid action RPG. It’s not going to like define a generation, but every time it comes up I think back on it fondly.
I would like another like it.
Lentils, like in a daal, really does it for me.
But mostly I’m just used to feeling hungry before I eat. It’s not painful, that’s just what a healthy appetite feels like. I find having a regular regimen helps cut out the second guessing.
Disclaimer that I don’t know what you’re eating. Maybe you just aren’t eating enough. Maybe you aren’t drinking enough water.
How do you like it? I tried it a few years ago, but my vim muscular memory made it feel as uncomfortable as learning vim for the first time.
Just get used to
Don’t try to do it all at first, just get comfortable with the essentials. You can even just stay in insert mode (the only mode in most editors) at first.
Keep a vim basics cheat sheet handy for a couple weeks as you’re building in muscle memory, then slowly work in more advanced techniques and combinations.
It doesn’t take long before you start having a lot of fun just manipulating text.
PS here’s a decently basic cheat sheet I found:
My manager just went on vacation the week they laid off his team. Didn’t hear a word from that coward after the fact.
It’s funny because the people behind the decision will likely profit from enshitifying the company so that it’s no longer useful or profitable in a few years.
So in a way they’re learning the lesson that they should keep company hopping and soaking customers wherever they go, because everyone (at their pay grade) gets rich, and then they just move on.
Arcanum of Steamworks and Magick Obscura.
Golden Sun GBA soundtrack.
I love this soundtrack so much. They got some really nice synthesised woodwind effect out of that chipset. I don’t think I ever heard anyone else do the same.
I was a disappointed with the latest Golden Sun’s ost in comparison. It’s fully hi-fi orchestral, but so much more forgettable.
Propaganda
I’ve heard it’s very good and I’ve tried every one, but personally could never get into them.
They certainly sound satisfying, but definitely can’t beat Doom in terms of utility or power fantasy.
I do love the audio and visuals and vibe and just overall everything of HeXen a lot. It’s not as pick-up-and-play-able as the Doom, but it’s a great suggestion. Been a while since I did a replay, too…
I feel like Doom or Quake are cop outs here, but they are perennial replays, and they have some great horror aesthetics
Or after the “but” and before the “and”
So messy is good, or…
I’ve always loved a messy house. I think it’s cultural
I went through a cowboy phase as a kid, and this salutation is the only remnant. I don’t even think about it, it’s just how I’ve been greeting people for all my life.
I only really think about how it sounds when people chuckle or smile at it. It just sounds normal to me.
Enjoy! Would love to hear a newcomer’s thoughts on it. I remember it being so immersive and cinematic the first time I played.
Though many of its innovations are now common in other games.
