I tried both flatpak Steam and the non-flatpak one which comes with Bazzite. I gave it access through flatsel like usual, but when I tried to add the drive from within steam it just sat there doing nothing.
I have not encountered this issue on other distros.
Actually I don’t have an igpu, I have an rx6600 and an i5 10400f.
I’m currently using Aurora-dx, is the switcheroo patch available there too ?
Rather than rebasing, would there be a way to to layer the Bazzite Optimizations (Kernel & scheduler Optimizations for gaming, not Lutris etc) on top of aurora-dx?
I find Boost for lemmy to work really well for me. I also use Voyager as a backup.
Recently I have started using this app called Nightwave Plaza. It has a surprisingly good selection of chill music that I can play in the background.
I have used Freebsd for sometime on my desktop back in 2021. For the most part I had a good experience except that I couldn’t figure out how to connect earphones/mic on the ports on my PC case. I had to plug it directly to my motherboard for Freebsd to detect them. I used an Nvidia card at that time and it also worked very nicely although it had much older drivers than Linux.
I ended up switching back to linux because of 2 reasons -
I have a few BTRFS drives that I use regularly and couldn’t afford to buy some new ones for Freebsd at that time.
I couldn’t play games using steam proton. I don’t know the situation these days, but I’ll surely check it out If it has improved since then.
You should give Freebsd a try, you might like it.

I was super interested in getting a job in cybersec, especially red team. But unfortunately no one wanted a fresher like me when I graduated.
Then things led to one another and I found myself working as a web developer. I’d still jump to a good cybersec job if I ever land one.
I’m in India. Everyone I talk to just recommend either working as a developer or working abroad.
They do have a reason for saying this though. The average electrician , plumber and carpenter that they know are all make enough to survive but not enough to lead a lavish lifestyle. People who work in waste management and transport usually make even less than electricians and plumbers.
Maybe things are changing these days, I’ll have to talk to the right people to get a better idea…

God probably exists outside of our understanding . There may be things different from atoms, that we humans are not able to conceptualize. So god may very well be made out of something other than atoms.

Funnily enough I recently switched from WM’s to DE (and KDE plasma at that) so that I don’t spend entire days adjusting making pointless window border customization and autostart scripts that are already taken care of by a Desktop environment.
That said, I cant live without my keybinds so I’ve replicated the same on my Plasma setup.
I only see an option to open the player in a new window. I didn’t see anything related to external players.
One thing I could try is to run stremio and mpv on a distrobox Archlinux container and see of it does the job.
Edit: can confirm that running stremio in an arch distrobox does work.
As someone from India, I agree with you.
I guess people just want to use what everyone else uses. Using something different than windows is instantly assumed to be very difficult.
I even showed my friends how they can play games on linux instead of having their laptops get stuck while using windows 11 , but they still won’t even consider trying it.
Btw if you don’t mind - do you play apex legends ? (Judging by your username)
Have you tried Floorp yet ? It’s pretty good, you may find some things really neat coming from Vivaldi.
