Your enemy’s enemy is your friend. It’s “safe” as it will not try to steal your crenditials. Although it is a privacy nightmare itself but think as people in China wouldn’t care much about Google’s privacy policy as noone will use the information against them.
I still browse r/wallstreetbets as I haven’t found a replaceable community here yet
Block whatever communities you deem to be noise, problems mostly solved.
I find him annoying, doesn’t mean I think he is a bad person.
I just blocked shitpost and 196 communities, the feed is much better.
SearXNG is the king
To keep posts, comments is unlikely to happen. Transferring the sub list and bookmarks or just exporting them should be in the near future, at least with 3rd party apps.
To comment on your last question. In theory, yes it can, but practically it will be as tricky as Google’s method. It will be much more user-friendly for end-user though, you just have to ask “Is the housing market about to burst? fediverse top posts” and I would imagine the results will be pretty relevant.
Since most Lemmy instances won’t come loaded with Google analytics, solely relying on Google crawlers I would imagine will be very ineffienct at gathering all the posts and comments.
This is so nasty and interesting at the same time
As someone who’s in the tech space I would say I’m very influenced by materialism. Arts don’t do much. Not that I don’t enjoy operas or paintings, but it’s not something would make feel like there is a new world as technology would.
I probably won’t, the last video game I played was Minecraft, I can’t imagine myself surviving such harsh environment.
There’s a script, Lemmy auto expand image, search it up.
Finally someone’s willing to make this happen, I’m in.
I would say a good mobile client’s user experience is indeed better than desktop. Desktop websites are second class citizens in this day and age.
Honestly though, I don’t think it’s a bad thing for free press. Some people say “free internet” when we are really talking about cooperative internet. I’d rather people get news from Lemmy than from Google or Facebook.
A replacement for Chinese Weibo, nice.
E-cigarettes is designed to replace cigarettes nowadays, not to help you quit smoking.
