i absolutely agree, my point is less that there are or are not health concerns, just that it is currently not a requirement, at least anywhere I have lived. i believe it should be, but I know that the south passing legislation that helps vulnerable people at the expense of those who own property is probably never going to happen. i just felt like it was odd that the article was stating that there is no law in the state, without emphasizing that most states do not either.
i think it is disingenuous to represent that AC is a standard or required by law for a rental anywhere, at least in the US. I do find it shitty that the AC included with the unit is damaged, and land(slum)lord won’t fix it, but again, unless it’s in the lease there really is no requirement that the LL provide it in US. I think it is good to start a discussion on if AC for a rental should be the law, (edit: i also would strongly support this) but i doubt we will see that become the case, especially in southern states which probably would need it most.
i wish the govt was in charge of maintaining the infrastructure, and i wish the govt owned the infrastructure then prioritized passenger traffic over freight so we could get some semblance of a working regional rail system.

if it’s required then the cars around you probably have it as well. i have driven several vehicles with the auto brake tech and the new vehicle have consistently gotten better compared to some that got it “early” and even the 2016/18 implementations I have driven didn’t seem to have any issue with highway driving.

in order for the vehicle to have plates, it must have the state minimum liability insurance. your auto plan probably explicitly excludes rentals unless you pay extra or have some premium coverage.
awesome! if you have not read a lot about introducing cats and have never added cats to a household before, i would do some searching online, it’s not advanced but you may find some tid-bits that make it easier and smoother. if you have space to isolate the kitten and resident cat, separate food water and litter, do that for a while. it is EXCELLENT if they are sniffing under the door and not hissing, but it is okay if they are hissing too, you will just need to separate for a bit longer. also remember that when they are in the same room, and playing, there will be hisses and “fights.” it may seem like it gets crazy now and then but that kitten will learn boundaries from it. in general, when it comes to introductions, my wife and I have had cats that took months to get along and one that only took a day before they were in the group, but we find them all cuddling now!
we have adopted cats younger than most shelters will adopt, and and as old as 6 months. best is old enough to be fixed or already fixed as some shelters will do
get a male kitten! (the older cat will teach it how to act a certain amount, you won’t really be able to identify how a kitten will act later, it’s a kitten and it will change)
