Wow that’s messed up. I guess the only recourse then would be to ask someone or some local business if you could setup the server there for a fee, but at that point just use a cloud service provider and it’s the same experience for about the same cost.
Your ISP bans self hosting? I’ve never heard of that before.

It is such a disappointment seeing the freedom and openness of the early promised internet turned to the personal rat cages and playpens of the rich, greedy, and powerful … Just like everything else in the real world, unfortunately.
The only time I used the API was to run a script when I first created the account to port over my subs from the account prior. I usually kill and create new accounts yearly.
Also in case anyone is wondering, PRAW and the reddit api still work somehow, I was able to grab my saved posts, in case they are lost with the account.
My love of Infinity is what pushed me off the Reddit train so I’d be pumped to have a Fedv equivalent!
Exactly. That’s the whole point of view of the video; for hobbyists and their personal projects, it is likely overkill.
