A blockchain is nothing more than a data structure. It’s essentially a linked list using the hash of the previous block. Distributed consensus is something blockchains are useful for, but it doesn’t define it
Because it’s an immutable ledger, not just a database. It maintains a history of every previous transaction/entry. Blockchains are used by banks and in the supply chain because it makes backtracing and identifying discrepancies trivial. For things like cryptocurrency, blockchains allow “don’t trust, verify” but for something where you already have trust, they allow “trust but verify”

The only two choices where I live are Amazon or Target. I despise Amazon, but I despise Target more because of their betrayal to the LGBTQ+ community. So, while I’m not happy about it, I choose the lesser of two evils (to me) and use Amazon.

NFTs are useful in cases far removed from owning a jpeg. Things like supply chain, where each item is tied to an NFT, akin to a tracking number. You now have an immutable history of when and where each item is along every step of the supply chain

2·6 months agoTermux is already available on the Play Store, so I imagine it won’t be an issue. Sideloading will still be possible, it just requires developers give Google their private information (which is fucking stupid) but you already have to do that to be on the Play Store, so I don’t see why Google wouldn’t verify the Termux team.

I’m not sure why they specifically point it out, but websockets is wholly unnecessary for a speed test, so I imagine it’s just to keep it as lightweight as possible
