Hum I doubt even the majority of mod are “anti marxist” or “pro zionist”… may be you’re looking at the more active communities, with few mod over them… But for what I read I never had that impression
The problem with chronological forum, is that it was a used tactic to post massively new topics to “hide” some controversial topic on the “second page”. Not to say that voting doesn’t have its own problem.
So you think if something is bad enough it is ok to discriminate again. Meaning you place the bar of disparaging some contend at around average value , so not at high elite value.
That can hold. It still depend on your value judgement of the content in question. Someone could think that lemmy.ml contend is “unfunny garbage”.
The point of a site like this one, is that not one person is the decider. Not you or me. Users vote what is or is not funny, so that the “avergagely” funny systematically go on top. The more people they are, the more the average will mirror the real world population… I think considering the average population to not be “worthy” is pretty elitist. There are a lot of problem in such a site: Hive mind, trolling, mass vote, bot usage… But discriminating against normal human user (even the worse one) doesn’t seems to me like a solution

18·1 month agoMicrowave, I never had one, because, I never wanted to eat ultra-processed microwaved food.
But now , I use it all the time:
- to reheat my tea
- cook my vegetable (since I learn they retain more element being microwaved than cook)
- I can stock on pure frozen product, tuna , salmon, raspberry… and eat them when I want without being afraid of spoilage.
So now all my meal are more healthy just because of microwave, which seems counterintuitive, but is true.

Mary Pearcey, like many other famous Victorian-era murderers, has been suggested as a suspect in the Jack the Ripper slayings. She was apparently the only female suspect mentioned at the time. Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, creator of Sherlock Holmes, speculated at the time that the Ripper might have been female, as a woman could have pretended to be a midwife and be seen in public in bloody clothing without arousing suspicion or notice.
This theory was then expanded upon in 1939 by William Stewart in his book Jack the Ripper: A New Theory, which specifically named Pearcey in connection with the crimes. All evidence given is circumstantial, and there is no physical evidence or eyewitness reports linking Pearcey to the Ripper crimes.
F. Tennyson Jesse, the British criminal historian, explained the theory in her study of Pearcey’s case: “It was no wonder that, simultaneously with the discovery of the crime, legends should have sprung up around her figure. The rumour even arose that the notorious Jack the Ripper had been at work in the locality, and though this was quickly disproved, yet the violence and horror associated with the crime was such as to make it understandable how the rumour arose in the first place. Even in the earliest paragraphs which announced the discovery of the crime, several false statements were suggested.”
In May 2006, DNA testing of saliva on stamps affixed to letters allegedly sent by Jack the Ripper to London newspapers, and thought by some modern writers to be genuine, appeared to come from a woman. This led to extensive discussion of Pearcey and her crime in the global press.

It just me, I dont like long serie (except thoses will self contained episode) Even something I liked, the 3 body problem, had 2 full episode (close to the end) of filler in 1 season. And they already got past the 1st book in that season, so they have room to 1 or 2 more season at best.
5 season?.. no way I can invest in that, but cool for those who can enjoy this kind of show

2007 anime. From a manga. Women with gigantic swords , the Claymore, fight some sort of demons in a forsaken world. We follow Clare, the Claymore Number 47, the least powerful of them all.
Every episode has some sort of a twist, with new information about the incredible rich world and lore, and the power and origin of the Claymore. Drawing is captivating, unique, gorgeous. The eyes!
Way better than Berserker, in the sense, that everything make sense and is foreshadow in Claymore.

I came upon one post from them saying : vertical tab is “core design” we wont change it, or remove it. Bold statement, if not a wrong one.
I browsing the Mozilla forum right now. Seems they already had an arrow pointing downward doing the same job, but more discret. Plus you could hide it with about:config. Seems a lot of people are unhappy with the new uncustomizable button. I think I should apply the Hanlon razor, and assume the new button is just here out of stupidity. And it will be rolled back soon, or be less intrusive, and be removable

Yeah it is fine, unless you have tabs all the way to the right… then it is surprisingly annoying. I kept misclicking on this shit, or loosing time avoiding it, when I need to move through a lot of tabs.
May be it is just muscle memory, but the no-remove feature is dumb as fuck
