NGL, when it was in the 60s the other day, I was tempted to. I seeded in early October and mowed it through late November (still above freezing) since it was growing and wanted to prune it to help it thicken.
I’m surprisingly level-headed for being a walking knot of anxiety.
Ask me anything.
I also develop Tesseract UI for Lemmy/Sublinks

Yep, I subbed to that one when it moved from .world
For sure. I was like “That…looks like T’Pol” and then he introduced her. I was like “surely they wouldn’t bring back that character just to recast her” and was ecstatic when, yep, it was T’Pol.
I don’t care what she goes by, lol, I’m just shocked, amazed, and grateful they got her to reprise T’Pol (I just finished an ENT rewatch). She retired and hasn’t acted since 2017. She’s also Mrs. Ticketmaster so she definitely doesn’t need to work. Glad she’s a Trekkie otherwise it probably wouldn’t have happened.
Thanks. I just had the main domain blocked, but I think I needed all of the subdomains as well. From the looks of those worker domains, it may be a cat-mouse game trying to keep them blocked.
I’m unfamiliar with Clubsall. Is it pulling them via federation or fetching via API? Would defederating work? I appear to have already defederated, likely in response to your earlier post, but not sure if that does anything. And that only stops them from pulling content from my instance, not what I posted to any other.
I just started this one and have to keep pausing it to calm down every time he introduces a member of his crew.
I don’t care so much about the range of political views, just the quantity of them.
Too many people on Lemmy make their political ideology their entire identity, and it’s just freaking exhausting.
Can we not just be people talking to other people about cool stuff? I just get sick of political ideologies masquerading as people.
For reference, I’m not trying to change your mind so much as defend my position on the matter.
What if that individual were going through a slump of 2 years and afterwards they would have passed through that life phase and could have been happy and had a positive experience with life again.
To me, that’s a lot of unknowns. And depending on the level of pain, physical and/or emotional, asking me to “stick it out” for a few years is a BIG ask with no guarantee at the end of it, and I would be suffering all the while. Think of it like how some people refuse chemo when diagnosed with cancer. It’s a grueling process with no guarantee at the end. Some opt to not go through that preferring to make the best of the time they have left untreated.
The only one who can really know if it’s worth it is the person. While it’s definitely something that affects more than them (family, friends, etc), those issues, IMO, are “family meeting” issues that should be left to those affected and not the law.
Edit: On a personal note, I think I would much prefer having the option of one last adventure and then a painless, planned ending (everything wrapped up, no burdens for my family, etc) than the thought of wasting away, forgotten, in a nursing home.
Patient gamers unite lol.
That’s basically how my Steam library works. I’ll buy a game when it’s heavily discounted and hope I’ll have a PC capable of running it in 5 years.
As long as it’s something only the person themselves can authorize, either at the time or ahead of time via end-of-life planning (e.g. it can’t be authorized like other medical procedures via power-of-attorney or a parent making that particular medical decision for a child, etc), I’m all for it.
Basically, “my body, my choice”. No one asked to come into the world, and if they want to leave it painlessly and with dignity, I feel it should be their right to do so.
I just used the gift link from the post body and gave it my spam-catcher email address. It let me right in, but I had to disable ublock since one of its annoyance filters was blocking the modal for the “register” option.
I’ve largely moved on from gaming, but some of the things that turned me off were the focus on hyper-realistic graphics, requiring unobtainium / expensive graphics cards, and focusing more on visuals than story.
Optimizing games so they’re not rendering content when the game is paused or reducing quality at certain points is nice and all, but do we really need all these hyper-realistic games?
As I said, I don’t have much of a horse in this race these days, but if games didn’t require expensive (to own and operate) graphics cards and focused more on gameplay mechanics and story (e.g. Portal), I’d probably consider getting back into gaming.
It’s not a bribe unless it’s in an envelope clearly marked “bribe”, silly.
Thanks for the insight.
I have no experience with larger companies, but a neighbor growing up and a friend’s dad (separate people) both had 1-2 vehicle trucking companies. They were the “drive them till they fall apart” style like you mentioned.
Tailgating, weaving through lanes to pass other cars and get to our destination zero seconds faster, fucking around with their phone. General “bad driver” stuff.
I look forward to those legal fees showing up in the higher prices at my local Kroger /s 😠
If it’s just one guy with a truck, I would imagine 10-20 years is enough time to save up for a trade-in, right?
Hey, at least I’ve got an electric mower, lol, so the noise factor is limited.
