Admin of a lot of fediverse servers, among which the .world ones:
You can find me on these servers as @ruud
I receive a lot of messages, direct and mentions. I can’t reply to them all. If you have an issue, please e-mail at info@lemmy.world
I did get Lemmy stickers of course
I am there. But will leave soon
Ahh yes I meant as opposed to Twitter and Facebook. But I worded it badly 😁
For moderators surely Mastodon. For admins too… For users: that’s a taste-thing. I’m not a developer so can’t say…
Yeah somewhere between twitter and facebook clone, more like Mastodon. But open-source and federated, like Lemmy.
Well I’m the owner of lemmy.world, and I’m Dutch. But still I know what Thanksgiving is, and many users are from the US, so why not?
But I do agree we should also feature days like the Trans day of Remembrance. Maybe we could create a community-created list of special days?
When I turned 50 this year…
I think I should own .world
Probably some bored kids.
That’s set to 40MB already
Ohh 1MB is too small. I’ll look into that
Technically I could. But as with mastodon.world I have made a promise to ensure continuity by creating a team of sysadmins and moderators with access, and making sure it can be transferred to them might I get hit by a bus, or get bored of this.
But I hope there will be a feature to export your posts soon so you can create your own backups too.
Your mail address is only stored in the database, to which no-one but me has access, and it shows in your Settings page when logged in. So unless there’s a security flaw in Lemmy, your mail address should be safe.
Sounds good! This can be raised as enhancement request in the LemmyNet GitHub
I created mastodon.world just because it sounded cool and it was available. The first banner I used for that was a ‘Hello World’ image so yes that was referring to scripting.
Later I registered some more .world domains like Lemmy.world (and calckey.world and some more yet to be launched)

Not a rule yet, but please mark the account as Bot
.
Also there aren’t rules (yet?) about number of posts a bot can make. Just try not to flood the federated timeline.
Also, I just suspended the @AppleMusic account on our server as their name and logo’s are copyrighted by Apple so they summoned us to take it down. Please use names and images that aren’t copyrighted.
Yes. At the NLNet stand.
