It drives me nuts about how often I see the comments section of an article have one smartass pasting the GPT summary of that article. The quality of that content is comparable to the “reply girl” shit from 10 years ago.

The concept of “tough love” can mean a lot of different things and dismissing it as having “no value” is painting with too broad a stroke.
In this specific instance, it’s helpful because kids need to learn at some point that they can’t always cry to get what they want. This absolutely has value because otherwise they continue that behavior as toddlers (and sometimes even past that if you keep enabling them…).
The big test for users is going to be once the apps shut down. Right now, it’s still very convenient to browse whatever is left on reddit. On July 1st…we’ll see.
It’s not related to the migration. The article said the lower valuation is as of May 31, before all the backlash on reddit began.
