Unfortunately not on PC but the Xenoblade Chronicles games are very MMO-like, in particular Xenoblade Chronicles X which puts less emphasis on the overall story and more on exploration, sidequests, levelling, min-maxing and gameplay systems. You’ll find great worlds to explore and combat that is quite reminiscent of typical cool-down systems in MMOs. XBX does have some online components but you can play the whole game completely offline too.

Sounds interesting. It’s always been a bit of a bummer that games with “Cthulhu” in the title (or obviously strongly inspired by the setting) never quite made good on their promises. I remember really liking some parts of “Dark Corners of the Earth” but the sum total was just kind of average and it played too much like a shooter. Then in 2018 or so there was “Call of Cthulhu” which also seemed promising but turned out a bit too formulaic. And then we have “The Sinking City” which has its charms but is maybe a bit too weird and gamey. It’s like they never really find the right combination of puzzles, action, investigation, characters, world building etc.
Time to check out another contender I guess …
