This is interesting, thanks!
Exit: Sadly, they don’t support media encoding at all. So might still be useful for ML duties.
-h for help should list commands, and it’s nested so you can get help for each subcommand. You’ll want to read the Getting Started section.
I’m using the Whipper docker container mostly successfully.
Transcoding on download seems like the easiest use case, I could use Tdarr and have one node with the GPU. But for apps like Immich that use the GPU for both transcoding (raw to jpg?) and for ML purposes (facial recognition) I’m guessing the container will have to run on the hardware where the GPU is, which means Plex and Jellyfin will also have to follow the gpu.
I’ve definitely thought about moving the GPU to a dedicated mini itx box. Wonder if I could find something rack friendly…
I hope Wayfair collapses and dissolves.
The federal government doesn’t control elections. You handle that at the state (or county/parish/whatever) level. At least here in Oregon, people can bring measures to the ballot by petition rather than waiting for the legislature to do anything about it, and given two party monopoly, they aren’t going to do anything about it for you.
8 years is a long time and cancer can kill you in two, especially if you don’t have good doctors and they don’t catch that it metastasized already. Ask me how I know.
Look at Mister Nose It All
I’m not sure someone smoothbrained enough to think that UBI “enables lazy people” really deserves a well thought-out counterpoint. It would be akin to convincing a bowl of turds one way or another.
Isn’t this the Jim Jordan that was involved in the sex abuse cover-up conspiracy at Ohio State University?
My concern with a universal income is that it discourages healthy people from working and thus contributing to our collective wellbeing.

To crush your enemies, see them driven before you, and to hear the lamentations of their women.
Came here to post Colonel’s Bequest. I loved so many Sierra games but this might have been the most fun and interesting.
This is intriguing and I’m going to think about this.
To fool the computer into not throwing an airbag light and disabling all the airbags. I have an early 00s car that swings double duty as street car and track car and when I pull the driver’s seat out for a race seat, the airbag light shows up. Then I go through a rigamarole to reset the light once everything is swapped and plugged in again. It’s a common mod, but just people usually cut up the harness. I’d like to keep things neat and tidy so I bought the seat side of the harness and want to cut the plug off, solder on the resistor and plug it in.
Well, yeah. Private network sysadmins tend to act like a big hammer. Torrents can be terrible on a network, particularly Linux distro torrents, especially if the hardware itself was put together on a shoestring budget. That said, a lot of universities are mirrors and there isn’t really a need to go outside the university network to obtain that stuff. Not all the time, though.
