I’ve been on Fastmail for several years and like it a lot! It lets you use you own domain name as well. Their app is not particularly great, but you can hook things up with the default iOS/Android/whatever mail app just fine.

I admit I didn’t interpret it correctly then, if the metaphor that you describe is the intention.

Still I think it’s pretty easy to interpret it the wrong way without the adjustments you described.

That’s how I interpreted it, indeed. That may be my dark personality but I assume it’s a pretty common interpretation.

To be fair, the guillotine was a step too far so the admins intervened rightly in my opinion.
