1·5 days agoWell, I guess the workplace has a form of politics. 🤷 A lot of the jokes in this comic are workers vs management. I think of it as finding humor in daily office life.
Would you call the TV show The Office political? The humor is similar I think
11·6 days agoI hear you. In New Hampshire we have a very high concentration of libertarians, but still not enough to beat the Republicans or Democrats.
As an alternative, many pro-liberty Republicans and Democrats have gotten elected in New Hampshire (about 80 of them) and they make up the Liberty Caucus. It’s similar to the position of Thomas Massie or Rand Paul in US Congress… both are registered Republican, but pro-liberty.
I’m guessing you are referring to Minneapolis? I am not sure how that’s related, haha.
What about running for office is fascist? If anything, its democratic, right?

It has to be approved in both houses and be signed by the Governor to become law. So far it has passed the New Hampshire State House.
Okay bear with me here. So school budgets will still go up by the rate of inflation. Inflation is how much more expensive things have become, so in inflation-adjusted dollars, they will be getting the same amount of money. Does that make sense?
Not increasing funding is not a cut. In fact, the schools will still get more money every year. 🙂

We still have to pay federal income tax. There is no state income tax.
Yes we have public schools and hospitals, yes we pave our roads. I think a lot of people have been led to believe it is either or, but it turns out when taxes are lowered, government starts prioritizing their spending better.
We have a lot of taxes for specific uses, where only tbe user pays it: a tax on liquor, toll roads, a tax on gambling profits and a tax on hotel stays. None of these are essential goods or services. So if you don’t use them, you don’t pay it. 🙂
New Hampshire has no sales tax either. At the local level we have property tax. We also collect a decent amount of money from toll roads, a tax on liquor, a tax on gambling profits and a tax on hotel stays and restaurants. Oh and there is a payroll tax.
As you can see, we rely more on user fees than broad based taxes. The way to lower your taxes is to not partake in these services.
As you mentioned, both income and sales tax are basically a tax on living your normal life.

Weed is legal for medical use, and a bill for recreational use passed the house this year, but it died in the Senate.
Also, there is legislation to cap property taxes at the rate of inflation.
I cannot speak for Texas, but the roads are well maintained in New Hampshire!

It is. Broad-based taxes take money from everyone whether they use the service or not. With a user fee, the way to avoid paying it is to not use the service.
