I agree completely, lines have gotten much shorter everywhere I’ve seen with self checkout.
That hasn’t been my experience at least. And yes, I don’t need to have a conversation with a cashier, but I also don’t wanna watch someone do something so basic that I can easily do myself. And from my experience, lines have gotten much shorter everywhere self checkout has been implemented.
Additionally I am not suggesting get rid of all cashiers, I just don’t want them to get rid of self checkout either. Give people the option so they can use what they prefer.
I am not suggesting that we remove normal checkouts. I am just saying I like the option of having self checkout everywhere.
I actually prefer self checkouts. It’s a simple task and going grocery shopping is one of my moments of solitude in the week, I don’t wanna talk to anyone that I don’t have to.
I’ve experienced the same here because I argued against an anarchist.
We have it in Canada. Conservatives hate it and love to point to a small percentage of abuse of the option however it has really helped alleviate stresses for families and people suffering from terminal illness.
It’s really hard to give up meat completely for me so I am trying to at least cut back by eating meat only every other day. Hopefully we can just move to lab grown meat that’s not detrimental to the environment so that I can enjoy meat without guilt again.
Well hoping Olivia can change that to an extent.
I really wish Toronto would follow Montreal’s lead.
I am in Ontario and all me thermostats have been metric. Thankfully too as it’s always confusing when it’s in imperial.
The one that stands out for me, I’ve never used imperial to measure distance for work. All our “mileage” is done in km’s.
I most definitely would not describe most of reddit as ultra liberal so if you think it is, I wonder what your definition of “not conservative” is. In my experience, a lot of reddit subs lean more to the right.
You do realize not everyone lives where you do right? You basically just made up a number to judge everyone when I’m reality, plenty of people are not getting their energy from fossil fuels. For example where I live, Ontario, the majority of our power comes from nuclear and hydro to the point where we call our power bill, the hydro bill. In fact fossil fuels don’t even make up the top 3 or even close to 10% with wind coming ahead of it.
And we aren’t the only place where the majority of electricity is generated from non fossil fuel sources so maybe next time you wanna judge others, do some research first or realize a world exists outside wherever you live.
No it’s time to investigate and jail these hateful terrorists.
Spend that 8.6m on homeless shelters instead. Or fixing pot holes.
