I use Connect too and I consider myself as bit of a power user(have 6 clients installed my phone). Connect has all the features or even more than any other client. The horizontal swipe to navigate the posts is my favourite and probably only client that has this feature.

You will definitely get better aa you keep playing the game and this improvement will give you even more of that hopium drug. It is a cycle which cannot be broken unless you get genuinely bored of the game.

Actually only news feed I can kind followed for a while was Google Discover. It would somehow(obviously with the data it stole frok me) would curate me articles which grab my interest. I wonder if there is any app like Google Discover but FOSS or at least privacy oriented.

OP has posted some actually a showerthought and hence we are getting great responses as well. I am seeing a lot of communities not sticking to their true usage, hopefully this is a start towards it.

I ran it for 8hrs and still it wasn’t finished so I gave up. Edited 3.5k comments and that’s only comments I made in the past year 💀 I have 90k+ comment karma and almost 7yrs on reddit. I think it would take days to complete it and hence I gave up.

It’s true that reddit has got tiktokified but what I want is not that tiktok content. I just want multimedia here on lemmy via any form. Be it from any other instance or embedding media sharing platforms.

Not having videos on fediverse is just plain boring. I always don’t want to interact or read text based content all the time. Sometimes I want to scroll and chill on the videos/gifs which can be informative, funny and so on.

Is Lemmy capable of playing that format of multimedia?

If it isn’t, then it will be the biggest downside of fediverse. But I do remember seeing a gif while I was on my PC.
