I just installed the Be My Eyes app (android). I was disappointed to find that the app did not recognize my system settings for dark mode and adjust accordingly. I am photo-phobic and the default bright white color scheme is unusable for me. I tried to adjust using Android’s accessibility option to toggle to an inverted color while in the app. Unfortunately, that is very cumbersome as many Android tools (like the popup keyboard) are then using a high contrast white color scheme. Ugh. And then … after struggling to get my account set up I was AGAIN disappointed to find that there was nothing in the app settings to set up a dark mode UI. It is unfathomable to me that an app specifically for the visually impaired doesn’t have this widely available accommodation. I apologize if I’m being dense here and it is available and I just can’t find it. Any insight would be appreciated.

Thanks for indulging my whining.

What a pain. Is Android’s ‘override force-dark’ setting usable with that app at all?
