To better clarify, I’ve been reading how EA is close to selling itself to the Saudis and probably other firms. And I’ve read some select comments who’ve said that they’re boycotting EA, been boycotting EA and getting pissy still over what EA has done to their IPs in the past.

And this isn’t the Fediverse, this is just what I’ve gathered outside it in observation.

All I can think is, is how pointless it is to get mad at something you’ve already written off as dead to you. This is applicable to so many things, you’ll see that pattern. If something is dead to you and you enjoy what has been still to this day, why waste your energy getting pissed at still at the thing that ruined it?

I think it is just wasting time and energy myself. I try and don’t get pissy at things I’ve already long resolved myself. Eh, whatever, I’ll enjoy something when it was great to have enjoyed it before whatever enshittification that thing has undergone. Doesn’t hurt me any.

It’s good to be even-tempered, and it’s also good to care for things that don’t directly affect you (society, trees, shade you won’t enjoy and all that jazz).

The opposite of love is not hate but apathy. If you give something your attention, it’s getting something out of you, whether you want it to or not, whether they’re aware of it or not.

If you want to truly hurt someone in a way that doesn’t hurt yourself, just cut them out of your life and move on.

That’s my reaction broadly to hate.

Even beyond the fact that it’s destructive and ugly, it just seems like a pointless waste of time and energy. I don’t get why anyone invests that much time and energy into being miserable, and especially over something that can’t possibly really matter in their lives.
