I’m glad that he’s calling a spade a spade here, it’s long overdue, but for god sakes man actually fucking do something about it???
He’s the prime minister and the leader of what was once one of the largest socialist parties in Europe - Where are the radical solutions?
You don’t fight fascism with “I promise not to be fascist guys”’ you actually fucking do something. Sweeping wealth taxes, universal basic income, electoral reform, actually improve people’s lives and they’ll stop looking to extremist idiots for answers.
…and maybe now is the time to focus on your policies which emphasise how you’re different from the fascists. Not the ones that make you look authoritarian (ID cards, OSA) and immigration obsessed (1 in 1 out).
None of the above will happen because “the left” have been removed from the party. Like all of 5 eyes there is only a neoliberal corporate-whore party, and a quasi-conservative fascist party guaranteed to jerk the Overton window closer to a kleptocratic dictatorship; the majority of both owned by the wealthy.
