Politics and electorialism aren’t the same thing. We shouldn’t use the masters tools to destroy his house its not possible we need to pursue other avenues.

I don’t see why we shouldn’t turn our oppressors weapons on them.

Because they built the the weapons in a way to benefit themselves and to be incapable of ending their power. Voting is nothing but allowing the populace the illusion of choosing their master without the opportunity to change the power structures.

If that were the case there would be no effort to disenfranchisement. Still if we as leftist can’t complain about our lack of representation given that we are not even trying to be represented; your comment is a case in point.

If you just decided to show up to a marathon would you be able to finish? Maybe you are that fit, but the reality is it takes a lot of effort and training. If we at leftists don’t put any effort into the politics around us then we should not be surprised we are not crossing any kind of finish line.

okay but what if you don’t want representive democracy if so then you wouldn’t train to enact it that would be like aiming to run a marathon by only biking.

Fair enough. Still you are lamenting, per the meme, that its not addressing your concerns. Further you currently live in one and should take even the smallest steps to your direction. Both require a minimal input of voting with the closest candidate. If you want more its on you and fellows to make a third party.

Note that Lemmy leans quite heavy to the left, yet you are pushing back on anyone trying to help you. Is it exactly what you ideal? No, but its still a shift in that direction, but your kinda flipping the table at those of us who are sympathetic to your causes.

The lack of engagement and complaints coming by our fellow leftist is in a sense trying to have your cake and eat it.

        They did vote

There is no reality where leftists effected the election by abstaining from voting, leftists and young people voted for Kamala.

The human beings that voted for Biden and stayed home for Harris were white men/women and latino men who were almost entirely boomers. -_-

Are these other avenues even being achieved? Have we come close to building something similar to the BPP or any kind of active organized resistance?
