The art is by Alfonso Font, whose work I generally enjoy. For example, I really dug this color palette. I don’t actually remember this story very well, but on the whole found it rather mediocre. Those ripples, though!

      I’ve no idea if he worked from a reference photo, but in any case I thought he did a magnificent job capturing the feel of a photo without necessarily being a slave to detail.
