House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-N.Y.) on Sunday said Democrats will not focus on impeaching President Trump if they regain a majority in the lower chamber after midterm elections.

“I’ve made clear from the very beginning that our top priority is going to be to drive down the high cost of living,” the House minority leader added.

The House minority leader has lauded Democrats’ push for redistricting nationwide in an effort to pick up additional House seats and signaled that the party will advocate more for working-class Americans, after Democrats saw losses from the key demographic in the 2024 election.

    You americans are going to have a rough time now that you have burnt all your soft power and goodwill. Sure you have other problems too, but I don’t think any political party can just “turn the ‘cost of living’ knob up”.

        Then put a 99% tax on assets over 1 billion. Fuck billionaires, you can’t get there without being evil.

        But we all know both parties get their pockets lined by the Epstein class and that’s why it won’t happen.

      I think it’s fine to expect your party to be capable of doing things that aren’t accomplished by turning a single imaginary knob. Imagine applying this to any other situation: “sorry, there’s no ‘do the dishes’ switch so I’m gonna have to tell you to lower your expectations.”
