I was looking up information on the meal as I am quite fond of it. But a section on the Wikipedia page has me a bit confused:
Tteokbokki was brought by restaurateurs to North Korea in 2017 and became a popular dish there. In 2024, North Korea banned the sale of tteokbokki, along with budae-jjigae, from sale in restaurants because the dishes are of South Korean origin.
The source is Radio Free Asia, and I understand they’re a propaganda outlet. But does anyone have any information on the meal’s status in North Korea?

I haven’t seen any evidence of this being true.
