I liked the part where he got really upset with Will for being accused of having it easy with a lot of money. He gets genuinely angry explaining how hard his life has been as a black man trying to fight his way up in a white dominated world. What he has had to tolerate and how much he had to do, to get to where he is, just to provide everything for his family. And by extension to Will himself, who seems to take that for granted at that moment.

It was a real break from the usual character who is warm, inviting and thoughtful. Even tho there were other outbursts, it was the exception and usually not that angry. It showed what a good actor James Avery really is.

Oh I remember that. Love it and it really made me think. Pretty sure it was my first realistic view into the life of a black man.

I love uncle Phil. The shark episode is so good.

But if I has to pick a favourite father/father figure in a TV show, it is hard to pass up either Bandit Healer or Uncle Iroh.
