As the holidays are warming up, let’s share our suggestions and idea requests for gifts for our blind and VI family and friends.
When requesting or offering suggestions, please include:
-
Budget (free, just about free, rough Dollar, Pound or Euro range)
-
Relevant recipient characteristics (level of vision, age, interests, devices owned, etc.)
-
Time constraints, if any (something that goes on sale for a short period of time or your favorite event that only takes place for a few months every 17 years)
Let’s use this thread to avoid clutter, to make searching easier and to have a nice reference to build upon, for the future.–

There are a lot of good ideas in there.

ps5 and mortal kombat 1, that’s all.
Thanks an excellent wishlist!
For me it’s an xbox and Forza. This is the first time there’s been a high quality accessible game on each console!
Have you tried it on PC at all?
I have, a little bit through cloud gaming; I don’t have a local PC powerful enough to run it. But I think the network delay from cloud gaming is throwing me off. At least, that’s what I’m blaming for my lack of skill!
Yeah, this is one of those games where you don’t want lag. If I didn’t have a PC I’d also go for an Xbox.
Looking for a stocking stuffer for my blind fiance: • $10-$15 • No vision except for some light • Likes Kindle books and owns a Kindle Paperwhite (dark fantasy, grimdark, fantasy romance; but not romantasty), soft clothes, snarky shirts about being blind, board games, tabletop RPGs if we can find the right dice, did like video games before going blind (Western RPGs, indie games, FPSs), owns an Xbox One X (Not Series X).
If you’re looking for accessible dice, or ways to make other card and board games accessible, I strongly recommend checking out 64 oz games. They have products for all ages, at a wide variety of prices.
@ChaiDreamLatte I absolutely love Magical Pets! It just takes D6 and comes with an accessible HTML version.
This is perfect. I could print and roll the two pages in a scroll and use the braille label maker to say, “check your email.” Then stuff it is in his stocking.
@ChaiDreamLatte that sounds super fun!
@MostlyBlindGamer @main @ChaiDreamLatte Oh, this looks fun! Getting a copy for myself!
@fastfinge @main @ChaiDreamLatte tell @plotbunnygames I sent you. Hehe.
