By weird I mean outside of regular cat diet, things like cornflakes, ketchup or banana bread (these are real examples from my and my friends’ cats).

Not my cat, but a family friend’s. The cat would go nuts for olives. One of them liked having olives on their pizza, and the cat would eat their way through unattended pizza boxes to get to the olives on the top of the pizza.

I once housesat and the cat would bite any soft fruit as well as through the plastic bags of snacks if left unattended. I’m attaching the photo of what a peach bitten by that cat looked like. I hope the attachment works, first time trying this

At least in my case the cat didn’t take the fruit elsewhere, it would just bite it on the spot. Cleaning up after a sticky mess of fruit all over the apartment doesn’t sound fun…

I had ferrets for a while. they liked to steal and hide things. you learn to check under the couch weekly just so you don’t find things by smell. and hope it’s not somehow inside the couch.

mostly it was the one guy, who preferred his chips and sweets, but knew his sister liked other things. she didn’t eat tomatoes or apples or fruit, but he’d carry that stinky orange down stairs for her, lips peeled back so he didn’t have to taste it too much.

I used to have a cat that went nuts for cantaloupe. Like she would eat through cardboard to get to it, then gnaw through the rind and hollow it out.

I let my cats sniff almost everything, and they usually walk away. For example, today I let them sniff some both raw chicken that I was preparing for my own dinner, and both gave it a few good sniffs before walking away. Most recently, I discovered that my youngest enjoys peanut butter! I believe it was the same cat who has also tried to eat my dried mango on multiple occasions. It was either my oldest or a friend’s cat who repeatedly took me up on the offer of banana chips.

Onions. She has stolen them from my plate and came for more.

PSA: Onions and garlick are poisonous for cats!

My cat is fine, though. Not letting her have it anymore.

Edit: oh, and chips! Any kind.

If it weren’t for humans they’d long be extinct. 😂

“Hey, what’s this?” Scratches gorilla playfully and lays down on side 😅

Mine sits politely at the counter while we cook (no paws on the counter) waiting to taste anything we are cooking.

    I don’t think she knows she’s a cat.

My girl craves bananas and will circle the table when my son and I are having breakfast, demanding her share. She also likes pita chips.

My old boy (RIP) used to love avocado and seaweed snacks.

Before my wonderful cat passed away, he was never interested in “people food”. But there were 2 exceptions that he went absolutely bonkers for: ranch dressing and Taco Bell.

Made me question the true edibility of both.

One of my cats has what I call social pica. She is always trying to get me to eat paper with her.

She leads me to her pile of paper scraps and starts munching and absolutely loves it if I take part eat paper with her. I only let her eat a tiny bit tho, it’s not healthy.

Mine does this too, she will tear up pieces of paper on the floor and leave a mess. I’ve wondered if it’s something to be concerned about

Very important papers. Try spending time with her and her pile, it might make her so happy
