Yes, and that’s something he should be blamed for. Though admittedly he didn’t do that alone either. Current CEO of Amazon was the head of AWS for a long time and is basically the reason the half the Internet runs on AWS, which is way worse than the shopping and delivery part of it

So while technically the board picks the CEO, the power lies within the top 10 shareholders. And Bezos is not one of them.
