Can recommend. Just, uh, don’t watch the ending if you’re struggling with not wanting to live any more. They touch on how immortality is awfully boring after awhile and people should be able to choose to hit the off switch.
Yeah, after seasons of moral crises and wrangling with hard questions, they answer it all with “all roads, happy or sad, lead to KYS”.
Which like, could be taken to a place of hedonistic treadmills and “is the human mind even capable of true satisfaction and eternal existence?” And the option to alter your mind to be capable of handling these things, or a reset ala reincarnatiin, or even just acknowledging that it took the characters thousands of years to reach that point, but they don’t. Which was a fucked up decision IMO, and a very irresponsible thing to do.
I agree they absolutely could have explored way more interesting topics. Probably just lazy writing, honestly. Show is ending, Story must end too with the characters ending. Tidy. Irresponsible? Eh. I will say it really resonated with me that boredom should be a valid reason.
