The Walking Dead, Avatar(the Airbender kind), League of Legends, Assassin’s Creed, A Song of Ice & Fire, Mass Effect, Pokemon, Legend of Zelda, all 30ish years old tops so modern and immensely popular.
Halo, Borderlands, Bioshock, Left 4 Dead, Dishonored, are all begging for a good remake or relaunch or new addition that would easily launch them to the front of done well.
Minecraft, Stardew Valley, Among Us, Souls-like games, Frozen, Squid Game, so many animes Jujutsu Kaisen, Dungeon Meshi, Naruto, Demon Slayer. The list goes on and on.
Funny thing is, original movies are being made constantly, but usually the good ones end up becoming franchises and, once it becomes a franchise, people then start using it to further complain about lack of original things
Or they wanna say it’s a rehash of old stuff. It’s just zombies, it’s just sci-fi, it’s just medieval fantasy.
Not realizing all of those and more were created like by the 1st century AD at the latest but likely soo far before that. The epic of Gilgamesh and Egyptian mythology alone cover almost all bases. Toss in True History by Lucien of Samosata and that’s basically every IP concept covered.
Yeah, the most annoying thing is when you point out recent or upcoming original movies and they say those are just ripoffs of other movies. They broaden their criteria of original to mean it can’t even superficially resemble anything that already exists. That’s almost literally impossible
