Treasures from 1975, sealed inside what the World Record Academy once called the “world’s largest time capsule,” went on display Friday, drawing hundreds from across the country to catch a glimpse of relics from the past.
Thousands of letters, pet rocks, artwork, a groovy teal suit and even a yellow Chevy Vega had been preserved inside the capsule — a portal to another era — for half a century.
Incredible patience to wait until a time when many people who were adults back then are still alive today!

For real though, my friend lived in the two bedroom upstairs apartment of a former single family house for about $2000 CAD a month and when browsing old newspapers online, I saw that the house was selling for the modern equivalent of $250k CAD in 1980. This is a SFH in the downtown area of what is now a 1.5m metro area… the house would sell for >$1m now
