    Obligatory joke:

Why are the Pyramids in Egypt?
Because they are too big to fit in the British Museum

Fun fact: people were convinced the pyramids were silos, and the Egyptians filled them from the top.

Look up “pyramid power”. These crazy people thought the pyramid shape preserved stuff with a special “pyramid energy”.

Because pyramids preserved mummies … so … science.

        O germany,

the part that is shown in the Pergamon Museum today is the smaller, frontal part. The larger, back part was considered too large to fit into the constraints of the structure of the museum; it is in storage.

To be fair, it is absolutely stunning. It’s not OK to steal and smuggle, but I do kind of understand the urge to do so. If you’re ever in Berlin and are interested in history/archeology, check it out.

First time i heard about the Pergamon museum was when i was in Berlin and it already seemed impressive on the pictures onlinre, so despite their dubious ownership I might check it out next time.
