Excuse me, but I am not neurodivergent! At least not to my knowledge…

Right, that sounds pretty normal - though frustrating. Conversational behaviour is also cultural, of course.
There are ways to keep the turn, of course, that’s why people say uuuh and ummm. Sounds like a frustrating manager 🙄
That’s interesting, from a conversational analysis point of view there are literally little measurable breaks in all conversations where anyone can try to take the turn.
Does that mean you lot can’t hear them?
Or is it a matter of not having the timing to hit them, o maybe that other people (verbally)wrestle the turn from you?

See, I know almost nothing about the Dutch cuisine. I heard you deep fry almost everything, and I like stroopwafels a lot.
In 10th grade I spent 2 weeks in the Netherlands on a school trip, but I remember absolutely nothing about the food which is actually sort of odd.
If I had to guess, I’d assume you eat classic farmers food, carb heavy with some sort of meat and dairy. But maybe that’s just because I assume everyone north of the Rhine to eat that.
The only major colonial empire which did not, in any way, import food from the colonies?
I’m from Denmark, we traditionally ate porridge and potatoes and pork, and of course rye bread so dense you can club someone to death with it if you want to.
It’s easy to forget how spectacularly bad W was with everything going on, and he was certainly less personally deplorable than this fucker, but still. Don’t forget how bad he was.

1·2 个月前The capability for language is obviously inherent and no one has disputed that for 70 years, the question is whether it’s domain specific like the generativists claim or domain general like the functionalists claim.

4·3 个月前Thanks! I like to explain things in a language that regular bright people can understand and avoid being too techy, because in my mind a lot of tech language is designed to make things sound difficult and therefore expensive.
The project itself is documented really well, though, best I’ve seen in a long long time.
In Denmark, 30 minutes and catered food in a cafeteria is pretty standard. No one goes out to lunch.
I’d rather stick with 30 minutes and get off work early, mind you.

Actually, in Denmark iirc you’re only diagnosed neurodivergent if you experience your symptoms as issues in day-to-day life, and I don’t think I have any problems in my day-to-day. I follow a lot of neurodivergent people on Mastodon and the fediverse in general, and while I can recognize some traits in myself, I don’t experience any of the difficulties I can hear they have.
Does that make me neurotypical? Not sure.
