That is a good point and I am not saying anything against it. Still that is why we should build our own progressive party. Particularly to win and/or spoil local and state elections. Blue no matter who should be a last resort. Spoiling is a big deal. We can get concessions on the major parties ticket or possible cabinet positions. My local city could be run by the university student body (the DSA really) if they showed up to those, but they don’t.
We know about the wishes of those who vote third party. We can only speculate on those who could have voted, but didn’t. So far the only real third party is the libertarian which seeks to further capitalism and is really just brand aware far right.
And really I saw this with an even larger focus on the local and state elections which have a bigger sway on our lives anyway and are often uncontested.
Biden: Green energy, EV investment, union empowerment(inb4), student debt forgiveness, marijuana pardons, infrastructure, drug price controls, Chips act, PACT act, pardoning people kicked out for being gay, supporting Ukraine, etc etc etc. Also non-competes banned (by FTC along “party lines”).
Bismarck: Unifies Germany; nationwide voting rights; health insurance; workers’ comp; old-age and disability pensions; standard currency; big rail/post reforms; industry protection; church–state separation.
