Cabin in the Woods
Saw a photograph of this area and needed to paint it. First time I’ve painted anything like it. A year ago I would have been far too intimidated to even try it.

This is so cool, I don’t think I’ve ever seen a painting with this kind of focus (sharpness, not subject) and it works really well for the scene!
You mention sharpness. I don’t know if it was intentional, but I really like how the cabin looks sharper and more defined than the trees and the landscape. The man-made stuff looks very different compared to the organic nature of the trees. The trees look softer, fluffier, less defined.
