Whoa that is very cool. I wonder if they painted the scene then smeared to get the man. Maybe that’s possible in oil, idk.
Entirely possible. Oils can be reworked with addition of mineral spirits or turpentine.

Damn… Yeah, that’s about it. My dad is now a memory and this is exactly the metaphor for him… a shape that is all but invisible but for what we hold in our heads.
