I liked the first book a lot, and wanted to learn them mystery, but I really struggled with the 2nd book. Maybe it is better for me to let it remain mysterious in that nature.
Clarke only really wrote the 1st book. 2nd, 3rd and 4th were co-written with Gentry Lee and aren’t very good. I think the sequels weren’t needed and somehow spoil the first book.
That’s very interesting and I didn’t know that. My mind calls out for answers. But also I can see the way it isn’t meant to have them. Like its a wider message maybe.
I read the first book, and the sequels when I was younger. The sequels were a struggle I remember.
Great cover for a great book.
You know what this doesn’t need?
More humans! (Stupid central intelligence.)Ah I had this one when I was a teenager.
Such a great book
Is that a battleship?
I read the book over Christmas, there’s a cylindrical sea halfway down the length of the vessel and a large island in the sea with a “city” the crew named New York. I’d say that’s what that is
Kinda looks like it but I’m guessing it’s just an island as there were no battleships in the book.
It’s an alien generation ship!
Oh sorry I meant the thing in the water.
One of three.
Generation ship. Uses the spinning of the central cylinder to simulate gravity
So this is where Gundam got its idea…
