Guys, my secret styling hairgel is liquid hand soap. It dries and holds without being too rigid, and when you wash your hair the soap is already in it.

As a guy, I watched a video from a guy who stopped using shampoo, and I’ve stopped using shampoo. Ten years later, I still have good hair, I don’t look like Huckleberry Finn, and I have no dandruff problem anymore.
The guy was saying: “You use soap to remove oils that your head’s skin produces so your hair and skin would be ok, so your head gets too dry, then your skin produces more oils, so you have oily hair, you wash it, so your skin gets too dry, so you wash it…” - Well, for the first month I didn’t look well, but then my head returned to some balance and its alright since. I wash my hair with water, intensively massaging my head, I do it several times in between of washing the rest of my body (I do use soap or a shower gel). My hairs are nice, and my head feels nice, so fuck shampoo.
P.S. If you don’t wash yourself enough, don’t tell me that I recommended anything, tou have to wash, and quite often, depending on your sweating levels and everything.

Short on the sides and back, but quite long (15cm or so) at the top, I brush them back. So it’s not buzzcut or anything.

The adjustment period wasn’t really nice, and the part about washing my hair mechanically is important - I usually start from the head, my hands get uncomfortably oily, but I’m about to use some washing agent or my body, so it rinses off naturally. On the second “attempt” it is already much better.
Our body naturally regulates head skin/hair environment with oils, but we somehow decided that we know better. It’s not unlike some people who overuse face cremes and fuck up their face skin moisture levels, or people who have chronic runny nose because they used vasoconstrictor nasal drops daily and destroyed the system there.
I’m of course not a professional and you shouldn’t rely on any of my advices/comments, but really, we are result of evolution, and if you don’t have any particular genetic problems or diseases, systems are working “as is” much closer to the optimal state, compared to the case where we try to “fix” them with some stuff.
